Anthony Rizzo entered 2013 with high expectations as the Cubs Opening Day First Baseman. He has come along way since 2008. The man has battled injuries, 2 team changes and has settled down in Chicago to be one of he most promising young power hitting prospects in the MLB today. He could end up being a 35 - 40 HR, 100 RBI man in the 'Windy City' - and this would make him an icon at Wrigley Field. Recently he signed a 7 YR/ $41 MIL extension and will be a vital part in the rebuild of this franchise

By Chuck Booth (Lead Baseball Analyst/Website Owner): and welcome Jeff Kleiner (Salary, Roster and Depth Chart Expert for the MLB) – visit his website  here

You guys are all in for a treat.  Jeff Kleiner recently contacted me about a partnership merge for the website.  He has developed a site (prosportsrosters.com) that covers all organizational affiliates in the Minors for all of the Major League Baseball Clubs.  We are going to combine efforts to bring you the best look at salaries, current 25 Man Player Rosters and Depth Charts for all 30 teams.

Jeff is going to provide the documents in form of spreadsheets and I am going to accompany the posts with deep analysis of what the numbers tell us from my perspective.  If you can’t wait for all of my assessments for each club, go and visit Jeff’s website over at http://www.prosportsrosters.com.

In Speaking with Jeff, he is one of the more passionate fans I have come across towards the game of baseball.  He spends enough time in updating his MLB Facts for it to be a Full-Time Job.  So after the usual Video Clip and READ THE REST OF THIS ENTRY button, you will find some serious &*!@?!#!

Jeff updates this page below on a daily basis.  After you click on it….Bookmark it.  There is a 3 year salary forecast and stats not listed here on this page.  Jeff updates these pages daily and these changes include any Roster moves!

Starlin Castro Highlights 2012 – Mature Lyrics So Parental Guidance Is advised

Starlin Castro is signed through the 2020 season for the franchise. At just 23 Years Old - he has already racked up 587 Base Hits in 495 Career Games. The man from the Dominican Republic has seen a regression from his 2011 year (OPS of .773), to 2012 (.753 OPS) to a 2013 clip of .685. The Shortstop must learn some plate discipline.

Starlin Castro is signed through the 2020 season for the franchise. At just 23 Years Old – he has already racked up 587 Base Hits in 495 Career Games. The man from the Dominican Republic, has seen a regression from his 2011 year (OPS of .773), to 2012 (.753 OPS) to a 2013 clip of .685 so far this season. The Shortstop must learn some plate discipline.  Castro only walks about 1 time every 5 Games (109 BB in 495 GP).

The Cubs Minor League System was pretty bare when Theo Epstein first entered the picture last year.  Within months it is vastly improved through trades.  The team has a great chance to improve its system even more by trading away Alfonso Soriano, Matt Garza, Carlos Marmol – and perhaps several other moveable parts.

The club has struggled in 2013 thus far, playing stiff competition within the Division of Pittsburgh, St. Louis and Cincinnati – all of which are playing .600+ baseball.

The teams has received several good pitching campaigns from the new staff.  It is incumbent on the management to Draft and replenish the offense in the Major Leagues and Minor League System.

How long it takes to for the team to make it back to the playoffs – could be boosted by these such transactions.

This years payroll is $114 MIL as of now, but could lessen as they trade away some veterans.  Wrigley Field has been the franchises home playing field for over 100 years – yet has never seen a World Series Winner.  The Cubs last won the WS in 1908 (105 years ago).

Jeff Kleiner:  ”I have been a sports fan since the first Baseball game I went to at Comisky Park in Chicago in 1959, when baseball for me turned from black and white to color. I have attended or watched thousands of games, always paying attention to statistics, rosters and salaries of all professional sports.

Luckily I had the advantage of watching WGN TV and seeing hundreds of games in the 60′s. Collecting Baseball Cards and then later dealing them gave me an extra sense of the sport, both good and bad.” For all of your Salaries, Roster and Depth Charts for all 4 Major Sports (entire organization – Minors and Majors) click here or Follow Me on twitter
